g u a r d i a n s fire water earth wind & p h o e n i x
Those that have been chosen by a phoenix are distinguished by their remarkable intellect and cunning. Witty and brilliant in a classroom setting, they are swift, agile fighters who stress stealth. Their weapons of choice are two small, curved daggers, and their energy is that of fire.
& d r a g o n
Those selected by a dragon display great loyalty and courage. Self-sacrificing and humble, they are kindhearted beings who place themselves second. Creatures of water and ice, they weild a sword and use balanced tactics at a medium range.
& g r y f f i n
Those presented with a gryffin are proud individuals who boast resilience, fiery tempers, and stout hearts. Attacking with powerful moves, they wield either a spear or an axe. Their energy is that of the earth.
& p e g a s u s
Those that have been picked by a pegasus are wild, freespirited people who enjoy living life to its fullest. Ordinarily talkative, their tactics of combat are precision, and, as they wield a bow, are weak at close-combat. Their energy comes from the wind.

a g i n g for time does not stop & p h o e n i x
Upon hatching, the young birds are approximately the size of a melon. They have their full markings and feathers, but little control over the flame. It takes approximately five days until they can fly. At the end of their first month, they should be nearly the size of a pumpkin (were you to place it so that the width were its height), and at the end of two months they are completely full grown, standing at a near four feet. They are the fastest guardians to mature, though they live just as long.
& d r a g o n
At their hatching, dragons are about the size of a watermelon; they have a full set of scales, if a bit weaker than usual. Their grip on the elements of water and ice is shaky, and they cannot fly for about two weeks; at a month, they are approximately the size of a medium dog. Three months and they are almost the size of a hippopotamus, and it isn't until their fifth month from birth that they are fully grown. They are just a hair smaller than a sixteen wheeler, if you can imagine. Opposite of the phoenix, dragons take the longest to mature.
& g r y f f i n
At their hatching, Gryffins are the size of a small melon. They have full markings and feathers, almost no control over their element of stone, and cannot fly for a week. At a month, they are the size of a large dog; at three months, they are near the size of a small pony, in which stage they are full grown.
& p e g a s u s
At birth, they are a bit larger than a dragon, the size of a large watermelon. They have full markings and nearly no control over wind, but cannot fly for a week and a half, in which time they are the size of a medium dog. They reach the height of a small pony at a month; at two and a half, they are full grown at the size of a large stallion.

t r a i n i n g it doesn't come naturally
all students must attend classes when they are summoned. a new 'ability' is learned after the class completes the class and following challenge.
& p h o e n i x
1. after completing their first class and challenge, they learn to gently manipulate existing fire; these are not massive fires, however, but they can control anything from the size of a candle's flame to that of a small torch. These fires cannot be maintained for a long time, however, and quickly go out when away from their source or something flammable.
2. after their second class and challenge, they may now maintain fire for as long as they can hold their concentration, up to the size of a softball in diameter.
3. following their third lesson and challenge, they may now manipulate flames up to the size of a large campfire, though not yet a bonfire. In addition, they may now also spark a small, candle-sized fire by snapping.
& d r a g o n
1. after completing their first class and challenge, they can manipulate small pools of water, though they cannot directly control anything larger than the width and depth of a large watermelon.
2. after their second class and challenge, they will be able to freeze stationary water, able to freeze it into approximately the size of a smallish melon.
3. following their third lesson and challenge, they can now control water that is up to their waist and twice their height in width. In addition, they will be able to manipulate moving water, from the size of many falling raindrops to the hurried current of a small river.
& g r y f f i n
1. after completing their first class and challenge, they may lift and move stones no bigger, at most, than their fist. This can even be a challenge.
2. after their second class and challenge, they should be able to lift multiple stones at one time, still no bigger than a baseball, each.
3. following their third lesson and challenge, they should now be able to lift rocks that are half their size. In addition, they can now remove chunks of rock from the sides of cliffs, or even stone walls, by slamming their fist against it and using their Energy to cause a fissure in the stone.
& p e g a s u s
1. after completing their first class and challenge, they may direct fierce gusts but for merely a brief second. This is enough to upset small objects like a glass of water, or even disturb the flight of a young phoenix if you catch it off guard.
2. after their second class and challenge, they should be able to levitate small objects such as keys, lightweight books and pamphlets, and shoes. It takes great concentration and strength, to hold something for more than two minutes, and its nearly unheard of for someone of this skill.
3. following their third lesson and challenge, they should have a stronger grip on their sudden bursts of wind, giving them more power. In addition, they can now change the temperature of a room. This takes great concentration and energy, and the room is typically not any bigger than your typical garage, with the concentration of the heat or cold stemming from the Guardian and weakening outward.
