~Post Order~ 1) Kullervo Lyden 2) Mitchel Greath
--------- Finally, things at Revelin's School of Guardians seemed to be quieting down. A few days had passed since the doors of the great stone building had opened and all manner of students had flooded into the entrance hall bringing with them small pieces of their homes, and sometimes conflicting ideals. However, in that way that a muddy riverbed will slowly clear as the silt settles to the bottom, each child had found at least some place to fit in at least bearably, with only minor outbursts of discomfort or homesickness stirring the semblance of tranquility. In one corner of the great school though, the tranquility was not a facsimile, the great oaken shelves tinged golden with the afternoon light drifting in through dusty windows had lain calmly in this branch of the school, and still would be years later when the building had seen enough to be called 'ancient'. However, judging by the small gouges left by tiny scampering claws on the top of the venerable shelves, Celes had very little appreciation for the dignity of the history-yet-to-come. And so, while she left lasting impressions that librarians would pull their hair out over for years to come in a pursuit of a particularly evasive moth, Kullervo Lyden walked slowly up and down the isles, occasionally pulling out a volume and smiling at the tak-tak-tak of claws above. He had left his room earlier in the day in bewilderment after examining a small square of cloth and the sleeve of a tan tunic, both slightly damp, where they had lain on the warm stone of his windowsill after being placed there last night. For hours, the young Dragon guardian had been pacing the shelves, seeking, and finding no explanation. Still, as days had gone it hadn't been a particularly bad way to spend it. True, while he could find no very good explanation as to why the water that had previously been his Dragon's egg had not yet dried, Vero had learned more than he ever thought possible about water itself, and the theories as to how it fell from the sky.

Mitchel felt like kissing the ground when he found the library. He had searched the whole school, ignoring the maps that were shown to him. "I obviously need to start reading those," he muttered to himself quietly before he entered the great building within a building. Mitchel thought of it as a separate building, not just because of the size of it, but the fact that in this room, all the hustle and bustle calms down and one can relax and reminisce. Aquarius was there too, naturally. The small golden dragon rested on Mitch's shoulders, chirping curiously every time she found something new or unusual. The chirping Mitchel got used to, but her claws digging in every time she moved was a different story all together.
Mitchel looked around the library, setting Aquarius down on a shelf of books. He was looking for something somewhat fictional. A story about dragons, but with a little fantasy to make it more interesting. His search turned up fruitless though, not being able to find the type of book he needed. He was about to leave when Aquarius chirped heavily at the sight of another dragon. Where there is a dragon, Mitchel concluded in his head There must be a guardian. With that last thought, he went over near the dragon and saw another teenage boy. "Hello there, I'm Mitchel." He replied, extending a hand as was his custom.

Looking up from a startlingly engrossing tome on the subject of cloud patterns, Vero's eyes fell across the proffered hand extending from another brown-haired boy who, judging from the small blur of gold by his shoulder was also a new Guardian. Hastily shutting the book and placing it back on the shelf in approximately the right area, Vero turned and returned the handshake with a full smile.
"Ah, nice to meet you. My name's Kullervo, but I usually go by Vero." A rather loud, and almost affronted sounding squeak issued from above the heads of the two boys, and after turning to face it, Vero laughed and put up his arm so that the cerulean dragonet could scamper down and perch on his shoulder like the other dragonet, as well as give his ear an affectionate nibble.
"And this here is Celes." He said, gently coaxing her away from his ear with a scratch under the chin.
"As you can see, she's a dragon as well, so I guess we'll be team-mates. Or whatever they call it around here."

Mitchel smiled an accomplished smile when his hand was grasped firmly and shaken. This could be another victory on the friendly front. Mitchel looked at the book that he sent down after he released the other boys hand and thought it couldn't be that interesting by the cover. It's horrible to do, but Mitch refuses to read any book unless it looks interesting from the outside. Luckily, however, the trait doesn't stand when associating with humans.
"Vero, eh?" Mitch replied, twirling the name around his head. "I've never heard that one before," the young man admitted. "Not to say I don't like it though. It's very fitting," he said, not wanting to get his meaning confused with something that could turn out to be dreadful. After they exchanged greetings Mitchel heard a loud sound emanating from above them. He looked up and saw another dragon, this one colored blue.
"Celes is a beautiful name for a dragon." Mitch admitted. "This," he gestured toward his own dragon, a deep gold with piercing blue eyes and blue accents around them. "This is Aquarius." At the sound of her name, the dragon chirped loudly, wanting to be the center of attention.
"Team-mates?" Mitchel was confused. "What exactly is this place for?"

"Well, it is a little unusual I guess, but I'm named after a great ancestor of mine who was the original Kullervo. But I go by Vero because that is a name of my own. And that way I'm free to not be compared or anything. The Original Kullervo was a very strong magician, and in some way he was a king, though I don't know the story very well." Vero's lips turned up in a sheepish grin.
"It would be hard to beat that don't you think? But, ach, sorry for boring you with history. And what I meant by team-mates is just that we both have dragons. So it would follow that we'd be together somehow right? As for what we do he-AH!" The youth's words were cut off as Celes, spotting another moth fluttering above the bookshelves, launched herself off of Vero's shouder her back claws digging into his flesh as she ascended after her prey.
"Celes what are you.. ow." His attention was momentarily distracted from the obliviously prancing dragonet as he involuntarily moved his hand to touch the hurting area only to have it touch something wet, and come back with small spots of red staining his hands. The blood welling up from the pinpricks in his shoulder wasn't very thick but...
"Oh come on... I just washed this tunic!" He sent a mock furious glare up at Celes, who was now perched on the edge of the bookshelf looking down at the two, happily munching on something with wings.
"Ew, Celes... don't eat that."

Mitchel listened to Vero's short story about his name heritage, and Aquarius seemed equally as interested. He wasn't shocked that he was a magician, but was completely shocked about him being a king. He never heard of a King Vero before. "So," Mitchel asked, excitement tinting his voice, "You're royalty!?"
When the gears changed back to dragons, Mitchel was a little disappointed but didn't let it show. "Oh, yeah." He said, smacking himself mentally for not realizing they would probably train together, since they were both dragon guardians and all. "Well, I hope we can get to be more than teammates." He said with a grin. A grin that was instantly interrupted by a stuttering fix. "I meant like friends." Mitchel blurted the sentence out quickly, trying to fix up any misconception. It wasn't like him to hit on people he didn't know, and that's not what he intended. He hoped that Kullvero took it well enough.
Mitchel's excuse was thankfully interrupted by Celes and her foolishness. With a little laugh, Mitch offered his help. "I can take care of the wound and wash your tunic, if you would like." He said, mock bowing. "Your highness." The last bit was a play on how his grandfather was a king. He watched as Celes ate the moth, and realized that Aquarius wasn't on his shoulder anymore. "Where'd she," his words stopped when he found a hint of blue behind a book. He stroked his dragons spine, wondering what was wrong. Then, suddenly, the answer came to his mind in the most curious of ways. Apparently, Aquarius was disgusted, but interested at the same time, at the fact that something would want to eat a moth. "Foolish dragon," he scolded, lifting her up. "Sorry about that," he apologized to Kullvero.

"Wha-? No, I'm not royalty. At least, not really. It's really kind of complicated." Vero said as he pulled down on the neck of his tunic to bare his shoulder in order to look at the wound better.
"For one, this was a long long long time ago, hundreds if not a thousand years. And I said he was sort of a king, the story goes that at the time, the true High King had been overthrown, and to protect his son the heir, one of his advisers split the boy's soul and body so that it would be impossible to find him. The body I believe was brought up as a peasant, while the soul was placed into the body of a child who had been born dead. And that one was Kullervo. Heh, makes you wonder about what makes a king, is it the blood, or the spirit?" He explained while poking the small holes in his shoulder that had already stopped bleeding. Once satisfied that he wasn't going to get more blood than there already was on his tunic, Vero looked up with a smile.
"I don't really remember the end of the story, so I don't know if I really am descended from royalty or not. And of course we can be friends, that is.." He said with a small grin.
"If you're fine being friends with someone who might not be descended from a King. Though I will take you up on the bandaging, I uh... didn't expect this kind of thing to happen, so I don't have any supplies, nor do I know where they would be." After slipping his tunic back up onto his shoulder, Vero beckoned towards Celes who happily clambered down the side of the bookshelf, displacing a few volumes in the process.
"Ah don't worry about it." He said while bending over to gather the fallen books and to pick a stray wing off of Celes' snout.
"Aquarius just seems to be a bit more serious than this hooligan here."

Mitchel again listened intently as the story unfolded before him. "That is quite the tale," he said, after Kullvero stopped talking. "So he was only half of the king. Tell me, is that a true story?" Not wanting to sound like a snob, he added, "I just never heard of anything quite like that."
"Hmm, not royalty eh?" Mitch said, trying as hard as he could to keep a straight face. "I'm not so sure if I should associate with you in that case." His face broke into a wide grin almost instantly. "Hell, like I care. The only bonus with you being royalty is that you would have a pretty nice place to visit sometime." He laughed, wrinkles starting to form at his eyes. "As for bandaging, I don't have anything with me right now, but I have some stuff in my room for ya."
Mitchel grinned at Kullvero. "A little too serious I think." He said, still stroking Aquarius. "And a tid bit too curious. Our dragons seem to be on the opposite sides of the spectrum." He said, chuckling.

"Well, as far as I know it's true. Though, I think I know why you haven't heard of it before." Vero stooped over to pick up Celes who was nibbling anxiously on the hem of his pants and patted her gently before looking back at Mitchel.
"You see, the details of the Original Kullervo are ones that are only really known by the people of my hometown, since that's where it happened. Without the soul/body conundrum, the story just seems like another part of ancient history. But there's always more to history than what's recorded."
Vero shared a laugh with Mitchel, and smiled broadly. It looked like here he had just mad his first friend at Revelin's.
"I really do appreciate the gesture." He said making a motion with his head questioning whether they should leave or not.
"Sometimes I really am a bit too unprepared. I'll have to do something to thank you later on."
((Wait, Sierra?))

ooc//Aquarius! That's what happens when I reply dead-tired and Sierra comes back on after a week or so . Sorry bic// "Well, your must be from a pretty big hometown to have its own king." He noticed, thinking of how pretty his home place must be. His thoughts of that place stopped as the conversation took a turn. "So, do you still want me to bandage it up? If so, you can come with me to my room, or wait here. Your choice." Mitchel waited, Aquarius not paying any attention to them, but studying Celes curiously. "And no need to repay me. I'm sure I'll need something later on that you can provide."

((Sorry, I couldn't think of anything to do for a while.))
"Nah, it's not too big. And Bluestone Valley doesn't have its own king, it was just part of the Kingdom he ruled. But the events are only known there since it's a fairly isolated place and the interesting stuff happened there. No one really knows what happened after Kullervo left." With a quizzical eye Vero scanned the other's face for any hint of recognition. Bluestone Valley had long had a tradition of both mining gems from the mountains in which it was nestled, and fashioning those same gems into jewelry that was now recognized as being of very high quality. His own mother was actually a jeweler herself, and the Lyden name was one that graced some of the highest quality rings that left the valley to end up in wealthier cities.
"I don't think that it's a huge problem at the moment." He said referring to his shoulder. "But I think that I should definitely put something on it before too long."

"Bluestone Valley?" Mitch paused, thinking of where he had heard of that name before. Foolishly, he gazed at Aquarius like she would know for some reason. Realizing his idiocy, he blushed a light red. "I have heard of that name before." He told Kullvero. "But I don't remember from where... Was it an important part of history?" Truthfully, Mitchel could go without wondering, but he had a feeling Aquarius would be dieing to know. Sure enough, the small golden dragon cocked her head, waiting for Vero to answer. "At any rate, it kind of sucks that Bluestone Valley isn't big. I come from a small village myself and I must say, it's none to fun."
"I don't think that it's a huge problem at the moment." Mitch sighed. "It will be, however, if we don't get it fixed. Please, just sit down and I can mend it quite quickly for now. You should go to the hospital wing if it still hurts after a couple hours though." Mitch was already kneeling, waiting for Vero to follow his instructions.
